Sugar Skulls make first signings including local player

The Tucson Sugar Skulls signed their first four players in franchise history, and they include former CDO star Robert Metz.

Metz played college football at Dixie State where he captained the team. He joins the Sugar Skulls after two seasons with the Green Bay Blizzard of the Indoor Football League. Last season, he was named tot he All-IFL second team defense.

The Sugar Skulls also signed three defensve backs. Dee Maggitt played last year for the Iowa Barnstormers. Carlos Anderson comes to Tucson after playing the last two seasons witth the Kansas City Phantonms. And Micah Eugene played two seasons at LSU before finishing his collegeiate career at Southeastern Louisiana University.

"We are off to a great start in acquiring the type of talent that will have us competing for a championship from the outset," said Sugar Skulls Head Coach Marcus Coleman. "We're focused on players who we know will meet our standards for hard work and mental toughness on an off the field."
