TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) 8-Time State Champion Canyon del Oro softball continues to win on and off the field. The Pink Dorados had more team members (140) and raised more money ($3,000) than any other high school at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in Tucson.
CDO was represented by team leaders Sammy Nettling, Hailey Jones, and Erin Ferber. The three accepted the trophy for the team and were joined by Olympic silver medalist and Unviersity of Arizona senior Brigetta Barrett at the awards ceremony.
This past Friday, the Dorados defeated Casa Grande, 6-1, in their annual breast cancer awareness game.
This was the first time the Race for the Cure was held at the Unviersity of Arizona.
