TUCSON (San Diego Padres) The Arizona Diamondbacks and San DIego Padres will play a split-squad Spring Training game at Kino Stadium this Sunday at 1:05pm.

The game pairs the Tucson Padres Major League affiliate against the Major League team closest to Tucson. Both teams have a second Spring Training game that day in the Phoenix area.

"This is a perfect matchup for baseball fans in southern Arizona," said Mike Feder, General Manager of the Tucson Padres. "There are Diamondbacks fans throughout Tucson and they will get to see some D-backs players up close. On the Padres side, fans will see a combination of San Diego players and future Tucson Padres."

"We are thrilled to be playing a game in Tucson again," said Derrick Hall, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Arizona Diamondbacks. "Southern Arizona is an important part of our history and we always look for ways to keep a presence there. We are all proud of our fans down the I-10."

Fans can expect a St. Patrick's Day themed atmosphere at Kino Stadium on March 17. "We want to personally thank both the Padres and Diamondbacks for arranging this additional game. With the game being on a Sunday, it is a wonderful opportunity for families to come out to the ballpark," said Feder.

The Diamondbacks-Padres game is the second Major League Spring Training contest scheduled for Kino Stadium this March. The Chicago Cubs and Los Angeles Dodgers are playing a charity game on Thursday, March 21st at 1:05pm to benefit the Christina-Taylor Green Memorial Foundation.
