Arizona gets ready for Sand Volleyball
Reporter- Kayla Anderson, Sports Anchor
TUCSON (KGUN-TV)- Sand Volleyball is the 20th varsity sport added at the University of Arizona and while in won't start up until the Spring of 2014, the team is in the process of being built.
Current UA Volleyball Associate Head Coach Steve Walker is the new man in charge and that won't be the only familiar face that will be out on the sand court.
Wildcats' outside hitter Madi Kingdon will be doing double duty, playing both indoor and outdoor volleyball in 2014.
Walker says he will likely add a couple more indoor volleyball players to the team. Right now he's been busy hitting the recruiting trail, looking for players who have an all-around solid skill set.
So where will the Wildcats' play? The Jimenez practice facility (right across from the McKale Center) is an idea, but nothing is set in stone yet.
Arizona will be one of six PAC-12 schools with Sand Volleyball, the others schools are UCLA, USC, Cal and Stanford.
