TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) Ironwood Ridge graduate Alex Bowman will race in the Nationwide series in 2013 for RAB racing, as he will drive the #99 Toyota Camry.
Bowman tweeted that he is really excited to join the Toyota Racing Family.
The 19 year old Bowman raced in the ARCA series in 2012, where he was named rookie of the year.
I recently spoke with Nascar driver Kyle Busch on Bowman's ability. Busch, who also raced in Nascar as a teenager, said "I've heard of him, and I've seen some of the success that he's had in the ARCA racing series and he's done a whale of a job. Moving up through the ranks is something you've go to to do. He's on his way up and hopefully we'll see him winning some races soon."
The season starts next month at Daytona International Speedway.
