TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) A put-back shot by Andres Gomez gave the Chargers a 60-59 OT win over CDO in the Martin Luther King Jr. Basketball Classic at McKale Center.

Cholla was down by 3 points in the final seconds of regulation when Julio Duarte hit a 3-pointer to tie it up. With 12 seconds to go in overtime, Nico Hughes hit a 3-pointer to give CDO a 2 point lead. In the final seconds, Cholla's Jorge Carrasco missed the shot before Gomez's rebound and game winner.

The Chargers record improves to 18-7. CDO drops to 14-8.

In another overtime game, Santa Rita defeated Palo Verde, 76-73. Catalina Foothills knocked off Sabino, 66-52.

There are 14 teams involving seven teams in the holiday event. In girls action, Desert Christian defeated Empire 43-27, and Flowing Wells took care of Salpointe, 60-47. Tucson lost to Dobson, 71-49.
