TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) Arizona Wildcats Mark Lyons earned Pac-12 player of the week honors following his 24 point performance in last Saturday's 71-54 win over Arizona State.
It's the first time an Arizona Wildcat has won the award this season, despite the team's 16-1 record (4-1 in Pac-12.)
A 6-foot-1, 200-pound native of Schenectady, N.Y., Lyons helped Arizona to a win in its only game this week by totaling 24 points, three rebounds, three assists and three steals in the contest, while shooting 53.3 percent (8-of-15) from the field and 100.0 percent (6-of-6) from the line.
Following their win over Arizona State, the Wildcats will host UCLA on Thursday, followed by USC on Saturday.
Arizona has moved up to #6 in the associated press mens college basketball poll.
