TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - More than 5,000 soccer players met at Fort Lowell Park for another Tucson Association of Realtors Shootout.

This year, the tournament has more than 358 teams competing on over 45 different fields around the Tucson area on Saturday and Sunday.

Friday night was festive as the teams gathered at Fort Lowell Park for the opening ceremonies. Teams dressed in costumes, sprayed silly string, and showed team spirit in a parade introducing the participants.

The Olympic theme included a torch lighting ceremony, performed by Payton Rudnick. The Catalina Foothills High School student has raised more than $3,000 to provide soccer equipment and jerseys to less fortunate children.

Referees Matilda and Peter Peace are back for their seventh consecutive year, coming all the way from Scotland. "We really enjoy it because everyone is so friendly. It's a great atmosphere and it's a great feeling to be back in Tucson," Peter Peace said.
