Border agents find meth in chicken buckets

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Nogales Border Patrol agents arrested two young women after discovering six bags of methamphetamine in two buckets of chicken. 

The the young were attempting to cross the I-19 checkpoint Thursday as passengers of a commercial shuttle van, according to the Public Affairs Office with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection. 

The narcotics weighed nearly 6 pounds with a value of $58,700.

The agents turned the meth over to the Drug Enforcement Administration and the two young women face federal prosecution.
