Drexel Heights visits local schools for "mini-musters"
Web Producer: Rikki Mitchell
TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Drexel Heights Fire Department visited local schools in March to spread safety messages and show children what it's like to be a firefighter.
Tracy Koslowski with Drexel Heights tells KGUN9 that the program gives second graders a hands-on way to learn safety messages and firefighter skills.
The children also learn how to protect themselves in case of a fire.
They participate in an escape plan obstacle course, learn about smoke alarms, and where to go outside if there is a fire at their house.
Second graders at Miller Elementary, Vesey Elementary, Banks Elementary and Johnson Primary all participated in mini-musters in March.
