TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Students in the early education program at the Flowing Wells School Districts Emily Meschter Early Learning Center are getting a jump start on their educations using iPads in the classroom.

Teachers for the 3 to 5 year olds supplement classroom time with the use of iPads and various apps to highlight lessons and children are responding by learning to identify letters, numbers and ideas more quickly.

Teachers have used the hi-tech devices for lessons on monsoon rains around the world, volcanoes and even music by bringing digital examples right into the classroom.

Teachers feel the iPads help engage their students quickly by giving them hands on interaction with the devices. Instructors also say they are able to tailor their teaching by using various apps to fit children's varying needs.
