TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - TPD seeks public help with identifying and locating a man attempted to rob the Wells Fargo Bank located at 802 West Ajo Way on March 11 around 3 p.m.
In a news release, TPD Sgt. Maria Hawke said that the man approached the bank teller and passed her a note that implied he would harm her if she didn't give him money. A bullet-resistant barrier protects the teller counter at this bank.
The teller did not give him money and announced that a robbery was in progress and ducked down behind the counter. The suspect quickly left the bank at that point.
Witnesses said the suspect got into a newer model (2006-2010) silver passenger car. The car left the scene immediately after the attempted robbery.
The suspect is described as a Caucasian or Hispanic man in his mid-20s to mid-30s, approximately 5'07" to 5'08" tall, weighing approximately 185 pounds, with dark hair. He was last seen wearing a dark long-sleeved T-shirt, tan pants and dark sunglasses.
Anyone having information about his identity or whereabouts is urged to call 911 or 88-CRIME.
