BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer is scheduled to attend Wednesday's dedication of a soon-to-be-opened shooting range in Fort Mohave.
The Mohave Valley Daily News reports that the effort to open the Tri-State Shooting Park has been years in the making.
The Bullhead Gun Club was unable to get a renewed lease inside city limits after its shooting facility closed in 1999.
The park is being built on land that was turned over to the Arizona Game and Fish Department by the federal government.
The park's first phase includes a trap and skeet range, a 200-yard pistol and rifle range and a 50-yard pistol range.
Plans are for more trap and skeet ranges, a 600-yard rifle range and more pistol bays in subsequent phases.
