Storm to spread rain, heavy snow across Arizona

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) - Arizona's high country could get more than a foot of snow from a storm that's spreading across the state Friday.
The National Weather Service says up to 14 inches of snow is forecast for elevations above 6,500 feet. Those locations include Flagstaff, the White Mountains, the Kaibab Plateau and areas along the Mogollon Rim.
Heavy snow is expected to start falling Friday morning and continue through Saturday. Snow levels will fall to 4,000 feet.
Rainfall in southern and central Arizona will range from a quarter of an inch to an inch.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says motorists should avoid travel if possible or be prepared for slick roads and limited visibility.
