Hualapai judge sends Skywalk case to federal court

PEACH SPRINGS, Ariz. (AP) - A Hualapai tribal judge has put a case that stems from the tribe taking sole control of the Grand Canyon Skywalk on hold.
Judge Lawrence King issued an order this week saying the tribe and Las Vegas developer David Jin should pursue contract remedies in federal court. He has placed a stay on the tribal court case until a resolution is reached.
The tribe used an eminent domain ordinance last year to sever Jin's contractual interest in the Skywalk. The action led the two sides to tribal court.
Jin's attorney, Mark Tratos, says he'll seek an arbitration order from the U.S. District Court in Arizona.
Tribal spokesman Dave Cieslak says the tribe is reviewing the order.
