“Passport Day in The USA” was scheduled for Saturday, March 9th.

The event is now cancelled due to the sequestration, The Department of State says.

Passport Day is usually an annual event that the Department of State passport agencies and others open their doors for Saturday service.

Passport Day officials say they regret not being able to offer the passport service as planned.

Please visit travel.state.gov or call the National Passport Information Center at 1-877-487-2778 (TDD/TTY: 1-888-874-7793) for more information on how to apply at the Western Passport Center.

Some non-Department of State passport application acceptance facilities such as post offices and clerks of court may be open on March 9.  Please visit http://travel.state.gov to find the hours of operation of a passport application acceptance facility in your area.
