TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - According to Joshua Hurguy with Golder Ranch Fire, at 6:50 this morning, firefighters were dispatched to a vacant house fire at 60,000 block of East Arroyo Vista, in Pinal County.
Emergency crews confirmed that the fire began in the kitchen and quickly moved through the attic to other parts of the house. Conditions show that the fire had been burning for a long period of time, going unnoticed as residents of the home were in the process of moving.
Fire inspectors have ruled the fire as accidental and first indications point to the chemicals used to clean granite counter tops as the cause.
Further investigation shows the fire burned long and hot enough to burn through the roof creating the potential for the roof to collapse.
The estimated damaged to the house is over $100,000.
No one was injured in this incident and the resident was at their other property.
