Man accused of trying to rob Tucson bank arrested

TUCSON (AP) - Authorities say a man suspected of attempting to rob a Tucson bank is in custody.
Tucson police said Tuesday that 28-year old Jeffrey Boggs was arrested at his residence.
They say a citizen recognized Boggs after seeing the surveillance photographs in news reports and alerted detectives of his identity and location.
Police say Boggs entered a Wells Fargo Bank branch about 10 a.m. on Feb. 20 and allegedly handed a teller a note demanding money and threatening harm.
But the teller was behind a bulletproof window and announced out loud to other employees that the bank was being robbed.
Witnesses say Boggs immediately fled the scene without receiving any money.
Police say Boggs has been booked into the Pima County Jail on suspicion of attempted armed robbery.
