LOCKPORT, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say a western New York man who fled soon before being convicted of sex abuse has been found hiding in the Southwest.
Buffalo media outlets report that 47-year-old Paul Turley of Dunkirk and his wife were found last week by U.S. Marshals at the home of an acquaintance in Tucson, Ariz., and are in the process of being returned to New York.
A Niagara County Court jury convicted Turley last month of molesting two girls from 1996 to 1998, beginning when they were 5 years old. He disappeared during a lunch break at the courthouse just after jury selection was completed.
He faces nearly 40 years in prison when he's sentenced in April.
