TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Firefighters responded to a call about a southside house fire Sunday morning.
Firefighters were notified of a house fire in the 4100 block of south 12th Avenue just after 9:00 a.m. Sunday, according to Capt. Barrett Baker with the Tucson Police Department.
Once on scene, firefighters discovered a boarded, vacant single-family home with smoke coming from a boarded window, Baker said.
Baker tells KGUN9 that crews entered the home through a door on the southside of the home that had already been breached and found a couch on fire.
Firefighters extinguished the fire and removed the couch from the home. Crews also searched the residence to make sure no one was inside, according to Baker.
Baker says there was evidence of graffiti, vandalism and homeless habitation on the outside and inside
of the house.
