Arts and Crafts for Heart of Tucson

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - We all love buying beautiful pieces of art or fun, hand-made soaps, but it's even more rewarding when you know you're supporting local business and charity in the process.
Today, 32 local artists gathered at La Pasada in Midtown to display and sell the crafts they've worked so hard to make.
The event was put on by the Tucson Arts and Crafts Association, and this is the first of five showcases that will benefit a local charity.
Donated crafts will be entered into a raffle, where all of today's proceeds will go towards the organization "Heart of Tucson", a non-profit that rescues and rehabilitates neglected horses and educates the public about horse ownership.
"It's very important for our community," says Joan Ohler, show chair of the Tucson Arts and Crafts Association.
"There are so many animals here that need help, and the Humane Society and everyone just tries to do their job, and we try to help the little person who doesn't get help from big business and the government or anything else."
Judy Glore runs the non-profit and is fighting lung cancer.
We spoke to Judy in the past about her organization and her condition, and Joan tells us she has her good days and her bad, but overall, Judy is doing well.
