Flurry of rescues in central Arizona mountains

PHOENIX (AP) - Mix winter cold with snow or rain and that's a recipe for possible deadly consequences for would-be day hikers who get lost and aren't prepared to survive in the wild.
In one instance this week, the hiker apparently was found just in time.
The Pinal County Sheriff's Office says searchers who found a 51-year-old woman unconscious alongside a snowy trail in the Superstition Mountains believe she would have died if she hadn't been found and warmed up when she was.
Three other hikers were found in the same area after getting lost, reportedly after getting bad directions from the female hiker.
The Arizona Republic reports that it's not only the Superstitutions where hikers get in trouble. Two young people were rescued Sunday from the Humphreys Peak area near Flagstaff.
