Afternoon snow pounds Bisbee
Meteorologist: Aaron Brackett
Bisbee, Ariz. (KGUN-TV) - Conditions were downright treacherous in Bisbee Wednesday as the city was under a blizzard warning all day long.
Bisbee High School was vacant and plows sat uncovered in snow, until the snow started by early afternoon.
Before the the wintry weather began, 9OYS spoke to folks who said they were going to hunker down, stay off the roads, and enjoy the storm.
"I will move the firewood close to the house, keep the cat in, and just enjoy it. I will put on an extra layer of clothes to keep warm," said Betsy Breault.
Dour Reinger has lived in Bisbee for some time and is used to the panic of a snowstorm. "Its different, we live here, so when we see people that come down here, only 5 miles from the Mexican border and its snowing, you get a lot of strange reactions from people that are from Minnesota or Canada and stuff like that," said Reinger.
Shortly after 9OYS spoke to people in the city, the snow hit in a matter of minutes coating streets and slicking sidewalks.
Wednesday night, roads remained treacherous, but plows continued doing their best to clear the highways before moving to smaller roads.
