TUCSON(KGUN9-TV) - For anyone driving down E. Fort Lowell Rd., expect to see a long line of cars parked along the road, as pre-K parents camp out in anticipation of Hermosa Montessori School's kindergarten registration.

Douglas Meredith is hoping to register his daughter for kindergarten at the public charter school, and he isn't taking any chances.

"The school at 5:00 on Friday,  passes out the registration forms and they're numbered so we're basically waiting for that," Meredith said.

Meredith started camping outside the school at 8, Wednesday morning and plans to stick it out. He is far from alone.

The system is completely by the parents and for the parents. Here's how it works; in the days leading up to kindergarten registration, Hermosa hopefuls are on watch. Once the first parent lines up, the rest follow suit.

"This is a very good school, where I want to have my son. When it is about education, I just don't think about the camping and the cold or anything," parent Lilian Heisler told 9OYS.

9OYS went back to the psuedo campsite, Friday and caught up with parent Audrey Moeller, " I'm [feeling] tired --Tired and ready to register my son."
