TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A fund created to assist victims, families and witnesses of the January 8 shootings will close after the remaining funds are distributed.

Bill Carnegie, board chair of the Tucson Together Fund tells KGUN9 that some of the remaining funds will also be transferred to Homicide Survivors for any future claims that victims may submit.

After the remaining funds are distributed to victims and Homicide Survivors, the Tucson Together Fund will cease operations.

Carnegie stated in a press release that, "when the Pima County Attorney’s Office advised us that a local trial would not be conducted, we made the decision to disband the board and distribute the remaining funds."
