Deputies identify body found near wreckage

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Deputies have identified the body of an adult man that was discovered in the area of Ajo Highway and Postvale Road.
Deputy Tom Peine from the Pima County Sheriff's Department says the body is that of 47-year-old Jeffrey Scott Appel.
Peine also tells KGUN9 that Appel's body showed obvious signs of trauma.
The body was found by a woman walking her dog while deputies were in the area investigating an airplane crash that killed University of Arizona adjunct professor, Ted Willson.
The homicide unit continues to investigate the cause of Appel's death. Anyone with information is asked to call 9-1-1 or 88-CRIME.
