Medical marijuana supporters to hold event to persuade lawmakers

TUCSON (KGUN9 TV) - Medical marijuana patients and dispensary owners are gathering for a news conference in response to opposition from the Arizona Legislature.
Some members in the Arizona Legislature are considering putting medical marijuana back on the ballot despite Arizona voters approving the ballot measure in three previous sessions.
Green Halo dispensary, located at 7710 S. Wilmot Road, is sponsoring the event Saturday at 11:00 a.m. to allow medical marijuana supporters to tell their stories, according to Mike Scerbo with Rose, Moser and Allyn Public & Online Relations.
The speakers featured will include a former University of Illinois linebacker and medical marijuana patient living with AIDS and a nurse who specializes in treating medical marijuana patients. Green Halo operator, Ken Sobel will be there to overlook the conference and answer any questions.
