CASA GRANDE, Ariz. (AP) - Authorities say two people are dead after a small plane registered to a Tucson company crashed at the Casa Grande Municipal Airport in southern Arizona.
Federal Aviation Administration officials say the twin-engine Beechcraft Air King went down around 11:35 a.m. Wednesday as it was landing.
Authorities say the plane exploded and burned after crashing just north of a runway and both people aboard were killed.
Casa Grande police and fire officials say the names of the victims are being withheld until relatives have been notified.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor says the cause of the crash is unclear.
The Arizona Republic says a witness saw the plane try to land on the runway when it kicked up and flipped over.
The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board will investigate the crash.
