U.S. Postal Service to stop Saturday mail delivery
USPS will continue 6-day package delivery

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The financially strapped U.S. Postal Service says later today it will announce plans to stop delivering letters and other first-class mail on Saturdays.
This change will go into effect in August. The Postal Service says it will save $2 billion annually.
"With online bill pay and automatic bank deposits, the use of first class letters has dropped by 25 percent since 2006," Rob Solder, the Postal Service spokesperson in Tucson, told 9 On Your Side last month.
Soler also said a majority of Americans support the switch to a five-day delivery service.
The Postal Service will continue delivering packages six days a week. Package delivery has gone up by 14 percent since 2010.
