HAYDEN, Ariz. (AP) - Residents of Hayden who have televisions, computers, printers and cell phones can drop them off at a recycling event.
The Arizona Department of Environmental Quality is hosting the event Saturday in the parking lot of the town hall building.
The department has collected more than 1.8 million pounds of electronics waste since the recycling program began in August 2009.
Officials say they also anticipate receiving batteries, stereos, cables, cords and small appliances. An electronics recycling company will be on hand to wipe out computer hard drives.
Residents of surrounding communities also are welcome to drop off electronics.
