PIMA COUNTY, Ariz. (KGUN9-TV) - Pima County Deputies peacefully resolved a SWAT situation on the south side Thursday.
According to Deputy Tom Peine, Pima County Regional SWAT was deployed to a home at South Nogales Highway and Hughes Access Road after the resident would not answer his door.
Deputies were initially called there because the resident was with his 2-year-old child and the mother of the child called 911 for a check welfare.
Peine says the father has a history of violence and possibly a history of violence toward the child.
When the first deputy arrived, no one answered the door.
After SWAT arrived, the father sent out the 2-year-old child and everything was resolved peacefully.
Peine says the father is in custody but they are still working out the charges.
