TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Carondelet Health Network is hosting a free, drive-thru flu shot clinic Saturday and Sunday.
If you've been waiting for the right time to get you and your family vaccinated, there is no better time than now. State health officials say the flu is still spreading in Arizona--with a steep increase in the past two weeks.
The Department of Health Services reports 4,600 confirmed cases so far this flu season, with 1,600 of those cases confirmed in the past week.
To get your free flu shot Saturday, head to St. Mary's Hospital, 1601 West St. Mary's Road. The free clinic will begin at 11:00 a.m. and end at 3:00 p.m.
The free flu clinic will also be held Sunday between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at St. Joseph's Hospital, 350 North Wilmot Road.
Anyone over the age of 9-years-old can be immunized at these clinics, and you do not need to show any proof of insurance to receive a vaccine. Be prepared to wait in line and park for 15 minutes after receiving the vaccine to insure you don't suffer an allergic reaction.
If you can't make it to the free flu clinic this weekend, visit www.flu.org and use the vaccine finder to locate flu shot providers near you.
