TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - Carson Middle School was placed on lock down Friday while Tucson police searched for a child who may have had a gun.
Sgt. Maria Hawke with the Tucson Police Department tells KGUN9 that a motorist was driving near Stella Road and Pantano Road and witnessed a child showing what looked like a gun to other kids Friday morning.
Tucson police responded to the area and learned that the child had a toy gun and was showing it to his friends on the way to school.
Hawke says there was no indication that they boy planned to threaten anyone or use it at school in any way.
The lock down was precautionary and ended about an hour after it started.
