TUCSON (KGUN9-TV)- A man was displaced as a result of a fire in his trailer Wednesday morning. Golder Ranch Firefighters responded to the 2500 block of East Della Roccia at approximately 10:20 a.m., according to Captain Josh Hurguy.
Firefighters found smoke and flames coming from the roof of the travel trailer. The wooden awning attached to the trailer also started to burn. It took crews 10 minutes to extinguish the fire.
The resident was treated on scene for breathing problems but refused to be transported to a hospital. He has been taken in by neighbors and the Red Cross is helping to obtain his medications.
Inspectors are investigating the exact cause, but preliminary indications show a malfunctioning appliance being a possible cause of the fire.
Golder Ranch reminds everyone to check their smoke detectors and batteries annually. For more information, visit the Golder Ranch website.
