Police investigating string of overnight armed robberies

TUCSON (KGUN9 TV) - The Tucson Police Department is searching for a suspect in a series of overnight armed robberies at convenience stores and gas stations.
Sgt. Chris Widmer tells 9OYS the man successfully robbed eight stores overnight between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m.
Police describe the suspect as an African-American male in his 30's, 5"7 and 150 lbs. Witnesses told police he was wearing a blue or dark hoodies, dark pants, a dark bandana over his face and black gloves.
The suspect was driving an older model Cadillac, Widmer said.
Police began notifying stores around town at about 5:30 am. Widmer said the suspect failed to rob a QuickMart at 7895 E. Gold Links Road at about 5:40a.m. after the store clerk spotted him and called 911.
The first robbery happened at 2:10 a.m. at a QuickMart at 3370 N. Country Club Road.
If you have any information about the whereabouts of this suspect, police are asking you to call 911.
