PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a woman has been booked on several felony charges stemming from a hit-and-run crash north of Phoenix last week.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says the crash occurred Jan. 15 along Interstate 17 near State Route 101. A driver was standing by her inoperable vehicle in the HOV lane when the suspect, who authorities say was impaired by drugs, crashed into the car, then fled with a passenger.
Both were arrested a short time later. Authorities say the driver has been booked into jail for fleeing the scene of a crash with injury and possession of drugs and paraphernalia. Two additional charges are being considered in the case.
Authorities say the woman who was struck suffered significant injuries but is expected to survive.
