TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A 20-year-old man was found guilty Tuesday of attempted first degree murder and aggravated assault of a Tucson Police officer in an incident last year.
Sgt. Maria Hawke with TPD tells KGUN9 that Sergio Rojo-Valenzuela's trial ended Tuesday and his sentencing will take place at a later date.
The incident happened in the summer of 2012 when Rojo-Valenzuela and two other men were brandishing weapons and pointing them at citizens at a south side car wash.
When officers tried to apprehend the three men, one of them shot and almost hit an officer.
The other two men in this case, Jose Tapia Paloma and Arxeniz Carillo are still awaiting trial.
