Tucson man killed in collision

TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - TPD officers from Operations Division East responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in the area of South Harrison Road and East Escalante Road at 8:57 p.m., Jan. 20.
In a news release, Sgt. Chris Widmer said that a vehicle had collided with a fence near the intersection. The driver and sole occupant was transported to a local area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after his arrival.
He has been identified as 65-year old Robert Trowbridge, a Tucson resident. Next of kin have been notified.
Detectives from the Traffic Investigation Unit continued the investigation and determined that the 2000 Ford Ranger was traveling southbound on Harrison Road approaching Escalante Road. The vehicle left the roadway to the west, went down an embankment and struck a fence.
Detectives are continuing to investigate whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the collision.
