TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - A teenager passed away after she lost control of her vehicle while driving during the early hours of Sunday morning.
Deputies with the Foothills District responded to a report of a single-vehicle rollover accident at Artesiano Road and Ina Road just before 12:30 a.m. Sunday, according to Deputy Tom Peine with the Pima County Sheriff's Department.
Peine tells KGUN9 that once on scene, deputies discovered a four-door sedan laying on it's roof with three juvenile occupants trapped inside.
Northwest Fire responded to assist with the extraction of the occupants and to provide medical aid, according to Peine.
Two 16-year-old female passengers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
The driver, 16-year-old Julia Ann Good, suffered a fatal injury during the rollover and was pronounced dead on the scene, Peine said.
The initial investigation revealed that the car had been driving too fast over dips on Ina Road, west of Wade Road, according to Peine. The driver lost control of the vehicle.
All of the occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident and alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the incident.
