PHOENIX (KGUN9-TV) - Highway officials have opened one lane of eastbound traffic on I-8, but they continue to clear the roadway after a tractor-trailer fire occurred near Gila Bend.
A single lane of eastbound I-8 is still closed approximately 20 miles east of Gila Bend and motorists should continue to expect delays, according to Garin Groff with the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Groff tells KGUN9 that motorists can detours at State Route 238 from Gila Bend to Maricopa. Once in Maricopa, drivers can turn south on State Route 347 and from there use State Route 84 to return to I-8.
