Tucson, Ariz. (KGUN-TV) - The family of a woman at the center of murder investigation talked with Nine On Your Side about the daughter they lost.  A Tucson Man is charged with second-degree murder in the death of 37-year-old Katherine Morris Lemburg.  Her family tells us she was a beloved mother and long-time Tucson bartender.

Jerry Morris, Katherine's father, is still coping with the loss of his daughter Katie Lemburg.  Many Tucsonans may know her as a long-time Tucson bartender, most recently at Thirsty's Neighborhood Bar on Tucson's east side.

Jerry Morris, "And I don't think there was a customer in Tucson that didn't know what kind of woman she was."

  Pima County Sheriff's Deputies say accused killed Tyler Gunn told them he went to Reddington Pass and helped her commit suicide.  The family says the case is under investigation and they know their daughter.  Morris says she loved her two sons,  Brecken and River.

Jerry Morris, "Katie was sort of my little tomgirl growing up.  Also she was very, very influential in the school not only where Brecken had attended but where River goes to now."

Jerry Morris says his daughter worked hard to raise good sons.

Jerry Morris, "She would also correct them if they were rude and said thank you and those types of things."

Morris says this is especially hard on Katie's grandmother.

Jerry Morris, "We love our daughter very much, as well as her sister and sons.  My Mom just turned 90 the other day, she was staying at my mother's house that night.  She was the last person to see her on the morning of the 11th."

Jerry Morris, She gave my mother a big hug when she left.  She was supposed to be back no later than eight o'clock and that's the last we heard."

Morris says his daughter had a bright future.  She attended Brown Mackie College for classes as a nutritionist.

Jerry Morris, "Now we're just trying to sort out all the pieces."

Morris says Brown Mackie plans to honor his daughter with a memorial.
