NOGALES, Ariz. (AP) - A man was killed in Nogales when a stolen truck hit a tree and caught fire.
The Nogales International reports that the truck's driver abruptly backed up after apparently spotting law enforcement officers checking vehicles heading into Mexico.
The newspaper reports that the truck hit two pedestrians who were not seriously injured and then struck a Border Patrol vehicle.
With a Border Patrol agent in pursuit, the truck hit a tree and caught fire after losing control on a curve under a bridge.
The International reports that FBI agents were investigating. An FBI spokesman in Phoenix did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
