PHOENIX (AP) - Authorities say a Phoenix homeowner is fighting for his life after injuring himself while trying to trim some trees with a chainsaw.
Phoenix Fire Department officials say the man was in extremely critical condition after Friday afternoon's accident.
Rescuers arrived at a house near 36th Avenue and Bethany Home Road and found the man unconscious on his roof.
Authorities believe the man was cutting a thick branch when a piece of wood came up and hit him as the branch fell.
He sustained chest and facial trauma. His name hasn't been released.
Fire crews carried the man off the roof by a special ladder and took him to St. Joseph's Hospital.
