TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) - Police in Tempe say they used new technology to catch a robbery suspect.
A new report writing system allows police officers to wirelessly upload important information related to a crime.
Authorities say this allows all officers to be alerted to new information immediately if they come into contact with that person or vehicle.
Tempe police say the new system help them arrest a suspected purse snatcher.
Witnesses gave police the description and license plate number of the vehicle the suspect fled in after last Sunday's robbery.
The car was found Monday and the suspect was taken into custody.
Police say 35-year-old Lewis Jake has been booked into the Tempe City Jail on suspicion of one count of robbery, one count of aggravated assault and one count of tampering with evidence.
