TUCSON (KGUN9)- Arizona Softball may have lost a power hitter in Shelby Pendley but the team seemed to be moving forward on Tuesday afternoon when they met for their first official practice of the season.
Wildcats Head Coach Mike Candrea admits he'll be faced with new challenges this year, especially with just two seniors returning.
This year's group is young and not as experienced as teams in the past, but they do have an abundance of talent and versatility.
Candrea says, "All these kids play multiple positions and although we have a small roster, I think we have the most depth I've seen in a few years."
The Wildcats have about a month of practice before their first game of the season on February 8th vs. Northwestern.
