PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police say an officer faces surgery Monday after being shot and wounded Sunday night. Meanwhile, another man is in custody in the shooting.
Police haven't identified the 36-year-old officer but say he's hospitalized in stable condition with wounds to the face and abdomen.
Sgt. Trent Crump says the officer was shot when he approached a man on a bicycle.
Police sealed off the area and later found a man hiding in a shed. That man's identity hasn't been released.
He had been shot and wounded in the hands.
