TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - The Children's Museum is opening their doors to all visitors for free all day Saturday.
A local community member offered to sponsor a "day of play" for the community in honor of the lives lost in the recent Newtown shootings, according to Daniela Siqueiros, Marketing and Membership Manager for the Children's Museum.
"In the spirit of kindness to others and in memory of those lost in the Connecticut shootings, the generous contribution from our anonymous donor enables the Children's Museum Tucson to offer free admission on Saturday, January 5th as part of the BEYOND festivities," said Michael Luria, Executive Director.
Siqueiros tells KGUN9 that all guests will receive a green ribbon to wear in honor of the anonymous donor who underwrote their visit to the Museum. Children will also receive a Ben's Bells Kindness Coin along with the ribbon.
The Children's Museum Tucson will also be hosting the BEYOND "Together We MOVE!" event where children and their families can celebrate health and wellness.
Museum staff will introduce their new fitness-geared Wee Wiggle program. Wee Wiggle is an extension of Wee Move, allowing children (four and under) and their parents to explore the importance of exercise in an open play environment, Siqueiros says.
The "together We MOVE!" event will take place Saturday, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Throughout the event, kids and their parents can enjoy jumping castles, the YMCA rock wall and more.
