TUCSON (KGUN9-TV) - While everyone wakes up from New Year's Eve celebrations, Chantel Blanco and her boyfriend Robert Grigsby, are welcoming a new bundle of joy to their family.
On Monday, Ariebella Monet Grigsby was one of Tucson's first babies born on New Year's Day.
"Anticipation was building, everything else... just wanting her to come out healthy, not worried about what time," said Robert Grigsby.
Ariebella was 6 lbs, 10.9 ounces, and was delivered at 7:13 a.m., at St. Joseph's Hospital.
"I was very nervous, just being my first time going into labor -- didn't really know what to expect so I was very nervous and very scared," said Blanco.
And say they couldn't have asked for a better gift to start off 2013.
"As she gets older it's going to be exciting, because instead of saying Happy New Year every year, we can say Happy Birthday to her... you know, because it'll be the start of her birthday, so it'll definitely be fun," she said.
