KINGMAN, Ariz. (AP) - Home sales and the number of building permits pulled for single-family homes in Kingman during 2012 outpaced those in 2011.
The Kingman Daily Miner reports that the city issued 77 building permits for single-family homes in 2012, while 37 such permits were issued in 2011.
One factor that played into the increase was a decision by the Kingman City Council to do away with impact fees at the beginning of 2012.
In 2011, 914 homes were sold in the Kingman area, with a median listing price of $74,900.
As of Friday, 1,009 homes were sold in 2012 at a median listing price of $78,100.
