PHOENIX (AP) - Police and the FBI are investigating a hostage situation that was called in from a Bank of America branch in Phoenix.

FBI spokesman Manuel Johnson says employees arrived at the bank near 48th Street and Ray Road on Saturday morning to find a co-worker with some kind of device around her neck.

Bomb squad personnel were able to remove the device, and it was determined that it wasn't explosive.

Johnson says investigators have learned that the bank employee was taken hostage at her home Friday by a man and held against her will overnight. The man took the employee to the bank around 8:30 a.m.

The man left the bank by the time other employees arrived.

Johnson says agents have determined the man did not access the bank's vault.
